This fonds consists of approximately 8.5 cm of textual material and 8 photographs. The material is made up of five cookbooks and ledgers that were generated by the activities of the Daughters of the Midnight Sun, as well as correspondence, by-laws, membership lists, and loose recipes. The cookbooks were issued by the organization between 1941-1970. In addition to recipes, the cookbooks contain a brief history of the club, advertising, photographs and a list of the club's membership in January 1947 and in August 1955. One ledger that belonged to the Daughters of the Midnight Sun appears to date from June 17, 1968 until September 1969. The ledger includes receipts for the cookbooks issued in that year. Two other ledgers (financial statements) date from 1979 to 1985. The photograph was taken in 1971 and shows the Daughters of the Midnight Sun membership standing in front of the Capitol Theatre.

This fonds consists of correspondence, receipts, and statements of account predominantly concerning D'Arcy Arden's prospecting and staking activities at Hottah Lake.

This fonds contains records documenting prospecting and mining activities around Yellowknife, primarily in the 1930s. There are images of camps, floatplanes, boats, scenery, C. John Baker and Herb Dixon. The videocassette (VHS) contains 8 mm film footage that was taken by John Baker between 1935-1936. There are scenes of traveling, camping and prospecting in the Yellowknife area and mining activities at the Rich claim (Giant Mine).

The textual material consists of an 82-page transcript of an interview with John Baker that was conducted by Walter Humphries in 1994. There are also copies of Baker's correspondence and work-related papers concerning prospecting activities in the Yellowknife area and the Rich claim (Giant Mine), as well as extracts from newspapers dated 1934-1947, a report by A.W. Jolliffe on the Yellowknife River area, an article about John Baker from the CIM Reporter, resident hunting and trapping licenses and a summary report on the Rich Group of Claims. In addition, there are 4 bound journals dated from 1935-1936 containing correspondence and observations about development and drilling, ordering mining supplies and equipment, payroll and expense information at the Giant Mine. Two of the journals contain notes and correspondence written by C. John Baker and the other two journals consist of correspondence and notes written by Lockie Burwash.

Records relate to Dene languages, including materials from the Fort Good Hope Research project undertaken by the Government of the Northwest Territories Department of Education from 1981-1983. It also includes several grammars, dictionaries and reports of Dene language studies.

This fonds consists of 5 cm of textual records, 346 photographs (colour slides), 6 reels of film (16mm original masters), 13 pieces of film, and 1 Umatic videocassette (archival master). The textual records consist of two bound volumes, one a diary documenting research and survey work, and the other a vessel log. The textual records also include a folder containing narration intented for one or two of the film reels. The photographs depict members of the survey crew and the Local Aklavik Advisory Committee at work during the initial survey and the later construction at Inuvik. The slides also document various aspects of the survey work including clearing ground cover, drilling test holes and constructing roads. Additionally, the photographs depict various buildings being constructed at Inuvik and some close-ups of pile driving and the construction of the town's utilidor system. The slides are originals created by Curtis Merrill, with the exception of a few duplicate slides created by Roger Brown. These duplicate slides carry the notation "R.B.". The film reels and videocassette primarily feature Aklavik and the construction of the new settlement of Inuvik (initially known as East 3). One reel is believed to be from Merrill's 1949 film of an expedition to Foxe Basin. There is also footage of the South Slave Region, Great Slave Lake, and Nahanni Butte. The 13 pieces of film contain outtakes from the Aklavik/Inuvik footage.

This accession consists of 110 photographs documenting the construction of Yellowknife buildings and services in the late 1940s, and a visit from Governor General Viscount Alexander in 1946, attributed to Frank J.G. Cunningham. Also within this accession is a poster, dinner menu and a letter written by miner Daniel L. Davis.

This fonds consists of 72 photographs of Fort Simpson, including many images of the May 1963 flood. Also included in the fonds are a variety of memorabilia such as licences for the trading post, invitations to state functions, notices of school graduation ceremonies and a short history of the trading post at Fort Simpson.

This fonds consists of textual records, photographs, and maps generated by the workings of the Constitutional Development Steering Committee (CDSC). The fonds is divided into two series: Governance and Administration. The records include meeting packages and minutes, incorporation documents and bylaws, correspondence, staffing information, member group reports, workplans, community meeting and constitutional conference planning material and reports, Aboriginal Summit material, news releases, and publications.

This fonds consists of 17 photographs copied from original prints, one file of correspondence and a draft article on the Athabasca River Transport by S.C. Ellis. The photographs show people and activities in the Fort Smith region.

This fonds consists of 296 reel to reels (original masters) and 678 audio cassettes (original masters) copied to 661 sound CDs (RedBook Audio format - Archival Masters), which contain approximately 1013 oral history recordings and 1.2 meters of transcriptions from the Committee for Original People's Entitlement (COPE). The sound CDs constitute the archival masters. These recordings are in Inuvialuktun, Gwich'in and North Slavey and contain life stories of elders as well as traditional legends. Many of the recordings are part of CBC broadcast programming.

This fonds consists of records created by the Commission for Constitutional Development, including administrative records (incorporation and dissolution, meeting minutes, correspondence, financial records, press releases and news articles), hearing records (transcripts and written submissions), research and reference material, workshop records, and reports.

This fonds consists of approximately 5 meters of textual material; 143 black and white photographs; 4 architectural drawings; and 1 video produced or accumulated by Cominco Ltd. (formerly Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company of Canada, Ltd.) between 1936 and 1985. The records relate to Con mine operations in Yellowknife and the Pine Point Mine operations of the former community of Pine Point, Northwest Territories. The bulk of textual materials are business records which have been divided in 14 series and include general administration records, personnel records, legal records, financial records, records of development at Pine Point, records from the office of the mine superintendent, records from the office of the mine engineer, records from the office of the geologist, health and safety records, and the records of the Con Athletic Association. There are also documents such as mill logbooks, radiograms, amalgamation reports, and assay test data statistics. Also included are personal files of A.J. Richardson, Mine Superintendent in the early 1970s; notes, correspondence, and reports concerning the planning and construction of the Robertson shaft at Con Mine; and a copy of the agreement between the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company of Canada and the Bennett and White Construction company to build a hydroelectric power plant. This contract contains photographs, topographical plans, and a map of the proposed site. In addition, there are architectural style drawings of the proposed plant. This fonds also contains a full run of the employee newsletter North of Sitxy/North of 60, which was published by the company between 1977-1985.

Other photographic material in this fonds is composed of one photo album entitled "Pine Point Progress" containing 65 images of construction at the Pine Point Mine site and one album of 70 photographs from a 1950 report produced by the Northern Transportation Company on operating conditions and areas serviced. An additional 8 photographs feature the Con mine campsite in 1936-1937.

Also included in this fonds is a diagram that had been presented to the Commissioner of the Northwest Territories, S.M. Hodgson, of the first diamond drill exploration hole, sunk by Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company of Canada Ltd., in March of 1937.

This accession consists of four colour photographs and 0.5 cm text. Three photographs depict the posthumous awarding of a Coronation Medal to Michael Amarouk. Amarouk's wife, Martha Kigjugalik, accepted the medal presented by Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Corporal Clare Dent, surrounded by Kigjugalik's family. The other photograph shows Superintendent H. A. Larsen presenting an RCMP Long Service Medal to retired S/Cst. Parker at Baker Lake, the first Inuit man to receive this award. The photo was taken by Dent. Also included in this accession are 0.5 cm of textual material consisting of photocopies of typewritten accounts by Dent of these and subsequent events.

The fonds consists of records created by Claire Barnabe during her career as a teacher, hospitality worker, and settlement administrator in the Northwest Territories and includes personal correspondence, campaign material, interview transcripts, writings, 1970 autobiography, newspaper clippings, Port Burwell reports, correspondence, and history, Repulse Bay reports and correspondence, and Norman Wells correspondence and Settlement Council Minutes. The fonds also includes photographs of Fort Franklin (Deline), Fort Providence, Norman Wells, Hay River, Fort Good Hope, Arctic Red River (Tsiigehtchic), Aklavik, Cambridge Bay, Port Burwell, and Repulse Bay (Naujaat). The fonds has been divided into three series: Photographs, Personal, and Settlement records.

Records include photographs from the City of Edmonton Archives. The communities in the photographs include Fort Norman, Fort Smith, Fort Resolution, Fort Simpson, Arctic Red River (Tsiigehtchic), and Yellowknife. Most items are in postcard format, and several are stamped "The Hudson's Bay Co., Edmonton, Alta.".

This fonds consists of copies of a number of presentations made by the participants of the 1990 Circumpolar Conference on Literacy. Included is a copy of the conference program and copies of the text for speeches by Stephen Kakfwi, Minister of Education and Leslie J. Limage of UNESCO.

The majority of the images show people and places in and around the Mackenzie Delta region, including: Fort McPherson, Tsiigehtchic, and Aklavik. Included in the photographs are prominent Indigenous leaders, Anglican and Roman Catholic missions and mission workers.

This accession consists of a small amount of textual records and 74 photographs taken and gathered by Charlotte Babicki which document the activities of the Systems and Computer Services and Records Management divisions within the Government of the Northwest Territories and the NWT Literacy Council. The accession is divided into two series.

The fonds consists of approximately 800 black and white prints and cellulose nitrate negatives. The images are contained in two photo albums and two corresponding negative albums. It also includes two file folders of photographs and a number of framed prints. The images depict Hudson's Bay Company buildings and personnel at Fort Collinson, Gjoa Haven and Tuktoyaktuk. The textual material consists of Charles Rowan's correspondence from his time at Fort Collinson, particularly concerning his use of "Barneys" Tobacco, a letter of reference from Bishop Fleming and two reports on traveling time in the arctic, particularly to and from Cambridge Bay. Furthermore, there are two notebooks that were used as "Eskimo-English" [Inuktitut-English] and "English-Eskimo" [English-Inuktitut] dictionaries. The material dates between 1935-1955.

The videocassette is a copy of an 8 mm film loaned to the NWT Archives. A related interview with Charles Reiach is in accession number N-1997-022.

This fonds consists of 5 mm. of text, 53 black and white photographs (prints) and one DVD version of a film entitled "The Secret Years of Eldorado". The text includes a letter from the Semaine Internationale Contre Le Cancer announcing Charles Labine as as recipient of the "Pierre et Marie Curie" medal in consideration of the discovery of radium; prospectus and share distribution re: "Eldorado Gold Mines Limited" and a "Portfolio of Reproductions of the Documents of Surrender" from the Second World War which was presented to Chalres Labine. The photographs include images of the mining operations at Eldorado Mine at Great Bear Lake.
