Records include a print of the Snare River Power Project, completed in 1948, and four copy negatives from the "Gow Report", a report prepared in 1921 by D.B. Gow of the Dominion Water Power Branch, Dept. of the Interior. The report, which has been lost, was about a gauging station at Fort Fitzgerald (Alta.). Images are of Fitzgerald (Alta.) and Fort Smith waterfronts as well as of a portage between the two points.

This fonds consists of 132 colour slides of Camp Canol. Included in the images are winter and summer scenes, views of buildings and equipment, and scenes of the camp being burned.

This accession consists of photographs collected by Max Ward. The images show Max Ward and many of his aircraft in the North.

These records were created by Walter Slipchenko during his time as Chief of DIAND's Circumpolar Affairs Division, Director of Circumpolar Affairs with the GNWT, and as a consultant on circumpolar affairs, from 1977 to 1994. The records consist primarily of reports on GNWT engagement with circumpolar affairs, particularly with exchanges to the USSR and joint projects. Copies of the various cooperation agreements and photographs of some exchanges are also included.

This accession consists of W.D. Addison's collection of material related to the Nahanni area, including his own photographs, trip journals, and maps, the annotated bibliography and literature review he compiled, oral-history interviews he conducted, transcripts and catalogues he compiled and edited, photographs, documents, and maps he gathered from various sources, and correspondence he conducted with Nahanni old-timers and others.

This fonds consists of 456 photographs, 4 postcards and 2 cm of textual material. The majority of the photographs were contained in photo albums but have been removed. The photo albums include captions and two bear titles: "Ice Conditions - Bear River Upon Opening of Bear River Camp, June 1950" and "Operations on Bear River - 1951 Including Portaging of "Radium Franklin" and barges, and freight operations Bear River and Franklin." The third album documents a survey camp in the Great Bear River region during the 1930s; Hunter obtained the album from a surveyor. The photographs predominantly document Port Radium and Cameron Bay during the 1930s. The images depict life at the uranium mine, recreational activities, mining operations, mining employees, transportation and wildlife in the area. In addition, there are images of Fort Resolution, Fort Reliance, water transportation along Great Slave Lake, whaling and trapping. The loose colour photographs taken in 1980, document the portaging of the "Radium Franklin." Additional black and white photographs from the 1930s and 1940s feature Canol camps, Norman Wells and riverboats.

The textual material consists of a diary of a trip to the north compiled by David Walker, a writer hired by the Northern Transportation Company (NTCL), NTCL schedules and rates from 1938 and 1940, a copy of NTCL letterhead and a photocopy of Hudson's Bay Company Fleet schedules.

Records within this accession include six photographs of the Vittrekwa family, and includes people from Fort McPherson and Aklavik. These include Enna's parents William Vittrekwa and Mary Vittrekwa, as well as sister Catherine and brother-in-law Alfred Semple.

This fonds consists of 8 cm of textual material which relate to Velma Daw's (nee MacDonald's) activities within the school system in Inuvik and which document her participation in community events. The accession includes: correspondence between Mrs. Daws and the Education Division of the Department of Northern Affairs and National Resources; correspondence between Mrs. Daws and the parents of her students; correspondence between Mrs. Daws and her former students who were living in residence at Grolier Hall and Stringer Hall. The accession also contains finger paintings and pencil drawings composed by her Grade I and Grade II students at Inuvik in 1959. There is one daily planning book for 1960-1961, which detail class plans and suggestions on class planning produced by the Education Division. There are also transcripts of two Inuit stories, "The Man who joined the Caribou", and "The Greedy Fisherman" which were related to Mrs. Daws by Charlie Smith in the early 1950s. The accession has been divided into three series, i) correspondence, ii) educational materials, iii) community activities\events.

This accession consists of the original manuscript (59 pages) for the unpublished play "Hornby", written by Bruce Valpy. The play, set in the Thelon River area in the winter of 1926-1927, features the characters Jack Hornby, Edgar Christian and Harold Adelard.

This accession consists of 12 black and white photographs (postcard format) of various communities of the Mackenzie District including Aklavik, Fort Good Hope, Fort Norman, Fort Wrigley, Fort Resolution, Fort Providence, Fort Smith and Hay River.

This fonds consists of 180 black and white and colour negatives, 30 videocassettes (VHS), 1 Beta cassette recording, 102 audio cassettes, 8 audio reels and 3.5 metres of textual records generated by the Northwest Territories Public Service Association (NWTPSA) and the Union of Norther Workers (UNW) between 1970 and 1994. The records have been arranged into four series: textual records, photographs, sound recordings and moving images. The textual records were then organized into six sub-series: Minutes of Full Executive Meetings, Minutes of the Triennial Conventions, Minutes of Meetings of NWTPSA and UWN Locals, Newsletters, Collective Agreements and UNW Filing System. The textual records document the development of the union movement in the Northwest Territories and the increasing politicization of the union's membership. They also document the internal administration and operations of the NWTPSA and the UNW, and their relationship to the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). The records also depict the relationship between the NWTPSA, UNW and the Northwest Territories Federation of Labour (NWTFLA). The textual records contain information on convention procedures, elections, the collection of union dues, revisions to By-Laws and Policies, and the transfer of federal employees to the territorial government. The sound and video recordings were made at the Triennial Conventions and the Full Executive Meetings. The photographs were taken at the Triennial Conventions, Full Executive Meetings, and at individual members' work-sites. In addition, there are images of such political action campaigns as the annual Day of Mourning ceremonies, marches in support of striking workers at the Inuvik Housing Authority, Royal Oak Mines Limited, the federal government and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.

Records are comprised of an oral history research project entitled "Ulukhaqtuurmiut History: History and Development of the Holman Region, N.W.T." Richard G. Condon undertook the project with the assistance of Julia Ogina. The research project and resulting report documents the history of the Holman Region based on extensive archival research and oral history interviews with elders.

Records include photographs of people from Tulita (Fort Norman). The photographs are dated from 1933-1945 and include views of the waterfront and Anglican Church.

This accession consists of one black and white photograph of Northern Store (HBC) in Tuktoyaktuk (ca. 1969)

This fonds consists of one photocopy of a typed manuscript written by Gwendoline Tremain-Runyard between 1976 and 1988 and 89 copy negatives that were reproduced from an album compiled by Lottie Tremain, during her stay in the Northwest Territories between 1914 and 1919. The photographs document the three Anglican Missions that Reverend W.S. Tremain worked at: Fort Norman, Fort Simpson, and Hay River. The images relate primarily to the mission buildings in each community, and the staff and pupils of St. Peter's Anglican Residential School at Hay River. Some photographs depict Anglican missionaries who visited these communities. In addition, there are images of the "S.S. Mackenzie River", and some of canoes, scows, mooseskin boats, and tugs that plied the Mackenzie River. There are also some images of Dene camps. The manuscript gives a brief history of her family, however, Gwendoline has advised the NWT Archives that later research has made her aware of inaccuracies in that history.

The textual records are comprised of one pamphlet about the community of Pine Point. The photographs are all of former Pine Point town councillors.

This accession consists of copies the Tourism Industry Association of the Northwest Territories' newsletter. The newsletter informs members of upcoming training opportunities, marketing strategies, changes in legislation and expected activities of government agencies which might impact on tourism.

This fonds consists of 47 betacam videos and 5 cm of textual records. The videos contain two master copies of "I, Emile Petitot" and "Moi, Emile Petitot" as well as 45 tapes of raw footage. The text consists of transcripts of interviews for the films.

The fonds consists of 343 photographs (b&w negatives) of various Northwest Territories communities and events, taken by Tom Alföldi during the summer of 1971. The images include ground views and aerial views of Inuvik, Tuktoyaktuk, Hay River, Yellowknife, and Tsiigehtchic. There are also images of the Northern Games which were held in Inuvik, showing dancing, drumming, rat skinning, seal skinning, tea making, blanket toss, and spectators.
