This fonds consists of 36 cm of textual material and 124 colour slides. The textual material is made up of 12 volumes of Harrman's journals dated August 6, 1959 to November 11, 1967, a manuscript of an unpublished story entitled "Lucy Beavertail," numerous short stories, sketchbooks, cards and personal records, including accounts. The 124 colour slides feature Rae and the paintings of Charles Harrman.

The image was copied from a composite photograph of the members of the 2nd Legislative Assembly for the Northwest Territories, 1891 (Saskatchewan Archives number R-B1490).
This fonds consists of 171 copy negatives of prints that were contained in photo albums. The images include: views of the Fort Providence mission buildings; class photographs; portraits of Oblate missionaries and Grey Nuns; general views of Fort Providence; and construction activities. The images were copied and the original albums were returned to the Grey Nuns.

Item # :0001 (running time 10:00 min.) entitled "Lacombe Monument" shows missions in Alberta. Included are images of Indigenous costume and the construction of a teepee. Item # :0002 (running time 8:50 min.) entitled "Fort Providence" shows Catholic missions along the Mackenzie River. It would appear to document the tour of a bishop to the various Catholic missions in the Mackenzie region. Included in the footage are views of Fort Providence, Fort Simpson, Fort Good Hope, and Tsiigehtchic (Arctic Red River). The footage shot at Fort Simpson shows the treatment of a burn victim after one of the mission buildings burned. The footage shot at Fort Good Hope focuses primarily on the landscape and river in that area. The views of Tsiigehtchic show the church building and a "loucheux dance."
Records are comprised of two bound, unpublished manuscripts typed by Catherine Hoare entitled Adventures Unlimited. The manuscipt, authored in 1964, details the time that Mrs. Hoare and her husband William Hoare spent in northern communities including Aklavik, Tuktoyaktuk, Coppermine (Kugluktuk), Fort Reliance, Baker Lake, and Herschel Island between 1914-1931. The manuscript appears to be a transcript of journals kept by William and Catherine Hoare woven together with Mrs. Hoare's explanatory narrative. It details the travels and experiences of the family but also contains recolllections of historical events, including a version of the murder of Harry Radford and George Street.
Hoare, CatherineThis fonds consists of approximately 3 cm of textual material and 10 black and white photographs. The textual material consists of a copy of a journal kept by Carleton Appleby during the summer of 1946, during a trip on the Athabasca and Slave Rivers aboard the boat 'Beaver Lake.' He also visited Yellowknife, Fort Fitzgerald and Fort Rae during his journey. The 10 photographs were probably taken that same summer and depict the communities of Fort Rae and Yellowknife, as well as individuals he met in Yellowknife and aboard the riverboat 'Dease Lake.'
Appleby, Carlton R.Records are comprised of program guides for the Caribou Carnival annual spring festival in Yellowknife. The guides, which vary from newsprint to full-colour, date from 1978 to 1995. The Carnival, which began in the mid-1960s, was famous for hosting the Canadian Championship Dog Derby dogsledding race. The last Caribou Carnival took place on Frame Lake, Yellowknife in 2009.
The textual records are comprised of journals kept by Captain Lewis Royal Morton's during his travels along the Mackenzie and Athabasca Rivers, letters of reference, newspaper clippings of the tug 'Mabel's' freezing in on the Athabasca River and subsequent court case, and a 1938 Welding Review with story on 'Radium Queen' and 'Radium King'. There are also documents pertaining to his service with the Royal Engineers during World War I. The photographs are primarily of Northern Transportation Company and Hudson's Bay Company steamers that traveled the waterways of the Northwest Territories and northern Alberta.
Morton, Captain Lewis RoyalRecords consist of two cairn notes taken from cairn at Cape Felix. One note was dated August 10, 1967 and was probably left by a member of Project Franklin and only a few words are legible. The second note was dated 1971 and one of the signatures on it is "R.S. Pilot of Fort Smith."
This accession consists of one photograph (colour slide) depicting Canon James of Baker Lake.
The accession relates to the Canol Project and includes air navigation maps of northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories from 1940s, river survey maps of the Mackenzie River (entire length) which include substantial details regarding depth, shoreline, cabins or structures along the river. The collection also includes engineering schematics produced by US Engineers for the US War Department depicting the Camp Canol layout, pipelines across the Mackenzie River, oil tank farms, possible routes for the pipeline, pumpstation layouts documenting the proposed flow of oil from NWT to Yukon and onto US locations, and detail drawings of specific technologies.

Records include photographs from the files of the "Canadian Mining Journal". The images show mining operations in the NWT with a particularly strong focus on the mines in and around Yellowknife. The photographs document buildings and operations of Giant Mine, Salmita Mine, Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company (Con Mine), Negus Mine and Tundra Gold Mines. There are also photographs of the Burwash Camp and the Yellowknife Bakery.
The fonds consists of records created by the Yellowknife Branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy during its early years of operation. The records include a cheque register, correspondence, membership lists, meeting agenda, minutes, Prospector’s Class enrollment, schedule, and course materials, a proposed itinerary and account of the Governor General's 1947 visit, and a photograph of CIMM visitors to Yellowknife. The fonds also includes a ca. 1955 report prepared by one of CIMM's committees on the revision of the NWT Quartz Mining Regulations.

The photographs depict sled dogs in racing scenes, fans and dogs preparing for the start of the race, a musher holding a handful of awards, and the trophy itself.
This fonds consists of approximately 9 m of textual material and 12 colour photographic prints created by or related to the administration and operation of the Canadian Auto Workers Union Local 2304, formerly CASAW Local 4, in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Includes correspondence and reports originating from the Union's office, files relating to grievances, arbitration, the collective bargaining process with Giant Mine, joint occupational health and safety meeting minutes and case files, and legal documents largely related to the 1992 strike at the mine and subsequent civil lawsuits. Files relating to Giant Yellowknife Mines include correspondence, reports, policies and procedures, scientific studies relating to arsenic, cyanide, and asbestos, and operational records detailing the day to day operations of the mine. A separate set of records relate to the operation of the Salmita Mine, which was also owned by Giant.

Canada. Privy CouncilThis fonds consists of 10 cm of textual records and 17 maps, which illustrate the electoral boundaries within the Northwest Territories between 1962 and 1963. The records relate to 18 June 1962 election for the Electoral District of the Mackenzie River and 8 April 1963 election for the Electoral District of the Northwest Territories. The textual records consist of working documents and copies of official documents that L.F.G. "Bob" Borden had to compile for the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer after the elections were held. The records document the difficulties encountered in organizing these elections and in attempting to distribute electoral boxes to all potential polling stations within the Northwest Territories. The records have been divided into two series; the first series is of textual materials and the second is cartographic.
