WDA's Comments, 2013 Jul 10: Shortly after they arrived Carl Falcon initiated a systematic sampling program on the benches above Bennett Creek. Permafrost was everywhere, so the first step was to strip off the moss and vegetation from the 3 x 6 foot sample area and leave it to thaw while they explored other creek beds. However, this seems to be Bill Clark's curiosity leading him to sample an area which seemed promising to him. Bill Clark's clothes suggest this is summer but the vegetation seems snow covered in places as though it is early fall.
