In 1981, Yellowknife Films and CBC North co-produced a film documenting the community in Yellowknife known as Willow Flats. Willow Flats is located on the edge of Old Town Yellowknife and is noted for its residents who maintain a pioneer lifestyle. The film was directed and produced by Alan Booth and was narrated by Patty K. Hamilton. The film includes views of the Willow Flats area, and interviews with residents discussing their views of their lifestyle. "Willow Flats" has an approximate running time of 11 minutes and 30 seconds.

Records include photographs of the community of Holman. Photographs depict views of both the Anglican and Catholic Churches and a museum collection of artifacts.

The photographs depict the Canol camp and Norman Wells area.

Records include photographs of Inuvik during the period from the late 1950s to 1969. Depicted in the photographs is construction of Inuvik, people, and aerial views of Inuvik.

The plan was produced in response to the City of Yellowknife's call for proposals for development plans for the city's waterfront areas and includes detailed lot drawings of Latham Island, Jolliffe Island and the Old Town area of Yellowknife.

Records consist of one booklet entitled "Yellowknife Northwest Territories" compiled by Eric and Evelyn Kettlewell and produced and published by Intaglio Gravure Limited of Toronto, ca. 1946. The booklet contains 20 images of Yellowknife and some surrounding mine sites.

Records include photographs of Fort Rae (Behchoko). Topics include paying treaty, people of Fort Rae including Naomi Murphy and an Oblate priest Father Amoreaux.

This accession consists of 11 black and white photographs featuring people, a camp at Yellowknife, the connecting of Yellowknife's first electrical wires, and the first gold brick poured at Yellowknife.

Records include photographs of Yellowknife. Included are shots of the Wildcat Café, Canadian Pacific Airlines terminal building, and Giant Yellowknife Gold Mines Ltd.

The photographs primarily feature Yellowknife buildings such as the public school, the Red Cross Hospital, stores and hotels. Images also include the Yellowknife Expeditor (ship) and its Captain Fred Coe, William McDonald public school, the Dominion Government's experimental garden at Yellowknife, and pictures of Fort Chipewyan (Alberta) and Goldfields (Saskatchewan).

Records include photographs taken by taken by Roberta McGregor when she was the adult educator at Sambaa K'e (Trout Lake). Photographs may have been used in "community book". There are a variety of scenic shots, community activities & handicrafts. Edward Jumbo is the man preparing a birch log for snowshoes making and working on preparation of tobaggon boards. The birch bark baskets were made by Norma Jumbo.

Records are comprised of a proclamation published on the occasion of changing the status of Pine Point, Northwest Territories, from a village to a town.

This accession consists of one black and white photograph of Northern Store (HBC) in Tuktoyaktuk (ca. 1969)

The images depict daily life, mine employees, the camp and mining operations at Port Radium. In addition, there are several images of Northern Transportation Company Limited tugboats, barges and paddle steamers, as well as locations such as Hay River, Norman Wells and Inuvik.

The majority of the photographs are black and white and date from the 1940s. A few of the images are colour and date from the 1960s and 1970s. The photographs were donated to the Society for duplication by a number of individuals. A number of the images were copied from high school yearbooks or newspapers. Some of the images may have been taken by Henry Busse. Subjects include Negus Mine, curling, hockey, dogsledding, horses, schoolchildren, views of 'Old Town' and the 'Rock', Ndilo, and 'New Town' images of the Yellowknife Inn, the Anglican Church, Yellowknife Public School (later William McDonald School) and housing developments.

This accession consists of two file folders labelled Aklavik and Port Radium and site plans for Aklavik and Yellowknife. Inside the folders are charts illustrating daylight/twilight/darkness distribution at 66 degrees and 68 degrees North and two internal memorandums about Aklavik and Port Radium written by Margaret R. Montgomery for the Northern Operational Research Section, Department of National Defence. Also in the folders are three maps (0001) Hydrographic chart of Great Bear Lake, (0002) site plan of Port Radium, and (0003) Road & Rail Routes in the Northwest.

This fonds consists of 0.1 cm of textual records, 859 photographs (242 black and white negatives, 300 black and white prints - original masters; 766 black and white digital files (TIFF), 15 colour digital files (TIFF) - archival masters; 55 black and white negatives, 23 black and white prints - original and archival masters), 15 8mm film reels (original masters), four 16mm film reels (original masters), 19 Betacam SP videocassettes (archival masters), and one 8mm film reel (original and archival master).

The textual records consist of a membership certificate. The majority of the photographs document Sam’s life prospecting, mining, and trapping between 1930 and 1950, while a smaller selection document Sam’s nuclear family life beginning in 1952. There are five main series of photographs: work in the Great Bear Lake region with the Northern Transportation Company and uranium mines in the early to mid-1930s; gold mining, camping, and prospecting in the Great Slave Lake area in the mid-1930s through the 1940s; work on the Canol project in 1942-1943; trapping on the barren lands (tundra) of the Keewatin region near Clinton-Colden Lake and the Back River area in the late 1930s to 1950; and Sam’s nuclear family life from 1952 onwards. Communities documented in this fonds include early images of Yellowknife’s Old Town and Latham Island, Fort Franklin (Deline), Cameron Bay camps, Norman Wells, Fort Resolution, and Fort Smith. The moving images document being on the land, prospecting, and hunting between 1930 and 1960, and town and family life between 1950 and 1970.

The digital files (TIFF) are scans of the original black and white negatives, black and white prints, and colour negatives, while the videocassettes are transfers from the original 8mm and 16mm film reels, all created by Sam Otto and loaned by his son Sheldon in 2000. The majority of the originally loaned items were returned by Sam Otto's daughter Lorraine in 2015, in addition to some newly offered materials.

Records include photographs taken by Jean Boulva during five summers of research trips on the M.V. Salvelinus research vessel, including:

• his 1964 trip to Cambridge Bay via Hay River, Norman Wells, Inuvik, and Cape Parry;
• his 1965 trip to Cambridge Bay, Keyhole Lake, Bathurst Inlet, and Baychimo;
• his 1966 trip to Cambridge Bay, Wellington Bay and a research site in Dease Strait near Starvation Cove (69° 09' 41"N 105° 58' 50"W, 36 km west of Cambridge Bay);
• his 1967 trip to Cambridge Bay, Dease Strait, and Starvation Cove; and his 1968 trip to Starvation Cove, Cambridge Bay, and Bathurst Inlet.

The slides are arranged according to their received order, which is chronological, indicated on each slide with the creator's numbering scheme.

This fonds consists of records created and collected by the Walter and Thelma Reynolds family, particularly during the time they lived in Inuvik (1962-1964). The records include a copy of the 1962-1963 Sir Alexander Mackenzie School (Inuvik) Yearbook and 372 colour slides showing views and activities in Inuvik, Aklavik, Reindeer Station, Tuktoyaktuk, Sachs Harbour, Fort McPherson, Knut Lang's Camp, Colville Lake, Fort Good Hope, Norman Wells, Tulita (Fort Norman), Délįnę (Fort Franklin), Fort Simpson, Fort Providence, Fort Resolution, Yellowknife, Hay River, Fort Smith, Herschel Island and Old Crow, Yukon, and Iqaluit (Frobisher Bay) and Kinngait, (Cape Dorset), Nunavut, and in the Ogilvie and Richardson Mountains and on the Mackenzie River.

This fonds consists of approximately 15,538 photographs in various formats such as slides, prints and negatives, approximately 37 cm of text, 2 DAT audio cassettes, 25 audio reels, 6 films, 3 BetaCam videocassettes, 43 posters, 12 drawings and 2 maps. The photographic material dates between the late 1950s to 1995 and contains images of various communities and daily life of the Dene people of the North and South Slave regions. Eighteen photographs of Fort Good Hope collected by the donor likely date from the 1920s. By media type, there are roughly 10,700 colour slides, 1800 b/w negatives and 3000 colour negatives. The fonds also includes one colour print of Rene sitting on his snowmobile, which was later donated to the Collections section of the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. The textual material consists of the unedited, penultimate draft of the manuscript for "As Long As This Land Shall Last: A History of Treaty 8 and Treaty 11, 1870-1939," which contains more detail than the published text. Also included are two transcripts of interviews conducted between Rene Fumoleau and Paul Vaudrack, a Gwich'in man. The first, a 25 page (3 mm) transcript of an interview conducted in French in 1955, concerns the Gwich'in equivalent of the Yamoria legend. The second, from October 1968 and typewritten in English, depicts Gwich'in life in the early-twentieth century. This manuscript discusses the influence of the English language, residential schools, and the outbreaks of influenza at that time. The bulk of the textual material are copies of court proceedings from the Benoit et.al. v. R. case of the late 1990s relating to Treaty 8 and a copy of the thesis dissertation by Marine Le Puloch entitled 'Le Traite no. 8 au Canada, beneficiaires et exclus' (1999), also relating to Treaty 8. There are 25 audio reels and 2 DAT audiocassettes that contain audio from "My Country, My People," "I Was Born Here" and "Dene Nation." In addition, the sound recordings contain music from "Our Land, Our Life," drum music from Fort Good Hope recorded in the 1957, Dene songs, Hareskin language and messages from the people of Fort Good Hope to friends and relatives in the hospital in Aklavik. There are 3 copies of the film entitled "Dene Nation" and 3 copies of the film "I Was Born Here", one of which is in French, entitled "Mon pays est ma vie". There are also 3 corresponding archival master BetaCam videocassettes for the films. The remaining material consists of 43 posters and 2 maps that date between 1977-1985. The posters relate to Indigenous rights, land claims, and Indigenous organizations such as the Dene Nation. There are also two maps entitled Canada's First People's and Centennial Map of the Northwest Territories. The fonds includes transcripts from eight interviews condcuted by Jane Kenny in 1984 with elders from Deline and documents related to the first two meetings of the Thebacha Association in 1967.

This fonds consists of 75 black and white negatives. 74 of the negatives were taken from August 1946 to May 1948 and are cellulose nitrate. One negative was taken in June, 1994 as a comparison to an earlier image of the same location. The photographs feature the locations of Port Radium, Yellowknife, and Norman Wells. Subjects include an Eldorado Mining and Refining, Ltd. camp, Royal Canadian Corps of Signals stations, airplanes, Governor General Alexander's 1947 visit to the Northwest Territories, the Imperial Oil Limited camp and a Royal Canadian Mounted Police dog patrol. Most of the images were photographed by Robert van't Hoff, however two images are credited to Henry Busse.

This fonds consists of 580 copy negatives (35 mm) and 196 prints which are duplicates of the negatives. These are copies of photographs which belonged to Wop May. Though many of the images are not dated, however, the original photographs appear to date from circa 1928 to 1948. Many of the photographs were taken in northern Alberta, but locations within the Northwest Territories include Aklavik, Fort Norman, Rae, Arctic Red River, Hay River, Fort Providence, Fort Simpson, and Fort Resolution. The images include pilots, aircraft, and various aspects of air mail delivery.

This fonds also includes one map which appears to have been published in the Edmonton Journal. The map depicts Canada Post's inaugural air mail flight on December 10, 1929 between Edmonton and Aklavik piloted by Wop May.
