Textual records consist of one 1960 yearbook, entitled "Borean" which was produced by the staff and students at Fort Smith Federal High School. The yearbook contains photographs of the staff and students and articles about both the Fort Smith Federal High School and the Fort Smith Federal Day School - an elementary school. This was the first yearbook to be produced in the NWT, and contains greetings from a number of federal politicians including Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, Alvin Hamilton, the Minister of Northern Affairs and National Resources, and R.G. Robertson, the Commissioner of the NWT. The yearbook also contains a number of biographical sketches of long-time residents of Fort Smith and a history of the town.

The original films appear to date from the 1950s and are believed to have been created by an employee of Imperial Oil Limited in Norman Wells, Egon Madsen, for the company. Seven of the original films are in colour and all were taken in Norman Wells and the surrounding area. Subjects include the loading and transport of fuel drums, transport of a barge over land, a visit by Governor General Vincent Massey, building a tank farm, moving buildings from CANOL camp to Norman Wells, curling games, dogsledding, Imperial Oil Limited site and employees, and panorama views of Norman Wells and area.

Records are comprised of the first issue (volume 1 number1) of a 1972 newsletter, "Think News", which was published by students and staff at the Gordon Robertson Education Centre. The newsletter contains items of news about students at the school. It also contains stories, letters to the editor, and some news pertaining to the community.

Records include photographs taken by Georgie Stone in the process of preparing a magazine article on northern artists. Featured are two Inuvialuit carvers, Iyak (Fred Trimble) and Rex Goose, and one Inuit graphic artist, Peter Ragee of Cape Dorset. Images depict the artists while carving and drawing, and finished works.

The textual records consist of 3 files. The first file is of correspondence of the Eldorado Mining and Refining Company, Eldorado Gold Mines Ltd. and El Bonanza Mining Corp. Ltd. related to administrative matters (1934-1944). Includes some correspondence of Gilbert and Charles Labine. The second file contains the ballot of 12 candidates for the Aklavik Advisory Council (1969). The third file has part of a diary in Inuktitut (1955), 2 permits to enter the Reindeer Reserve, and 7 photographs in very bad condition which may have come from the collection of the National Archives of Canada.

The textual records consists of a wine list from the Ingraham Hotel, brochures from Yellowknife invitations to gold brick pourings and other social events. The photographs were collected by the donor, and were taken by the Royal Canadian Air Force. They consist mainly of aerial photographs of communities along the Mackenzie River.

The videocassette is a copy of an 8 mm film loaned to the NWT Archives. A related interview with Charles Reiach is in accession number N-1997-022.

Records consist of three menus: one is from the Annual Board of Trustees Yellowknife NWT annual dinner, 1949; the others are two copies of the menu, one with a seal, from the first annual Commissioner's Ball, 1969.

This accession consists of one map entitled "Canada Centennial Map: Northwest Territories 1870-1970." The map shows historic places and events across the Northwest Territories. The map was produced by the Federal Department of Energy Mines and Resources, 1970.

This accession consists of one photograph (black and white negative) of community leaders in Fort Norman [Tulita] taken in 1939 by a priest named Ittuvik.

Records include unpublished and published manuscripts, stories, poems and essays by Joe Tedjuk, Agnes Nanogak, John Ayaruaks, Mary Carpenter, Kenn and Navaran Harper, Saladin D'Anglure and a number of Inuit elders and children. The material was written between 1960 and 1989.

This accession consists of one black and white photographic print of the Wildcat Café. It is a copy of an image taken in 1949 by Nick C. Poohkay.

Records consist of minutes of the Dene/Inuit Meeting on Cooperative Management of the Thelon Wildlife Sanctuary and a handwritten statement of intent or declaration. This declaration was signed by the representatives of the Dene in Lutselk'e and representatives of the Inuit to develop a joint wildlife management plan for the Thelon Wildlife Sanctuary.

The textual records consist of a programme outlining the itinerary for the visit of His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales to Yellowknife in April 1979 and a report entitled "Aerial Reconnaissance Report: Fort Simpson Towards Fort Liard Road, 1956." The 50 black and white photographs are aerial photos from the "Reconnaissance Report" and the 2 maps are also part of the "Reconnaissance Report." The maps depict the District of Mackenzie, Simpson-Liard area and the Fort Nelson-Kotcho Lake region in British Columbia. The 34 colour slides depict the old village of Ni Dzi Ka Ko Gola, now an archaelogical site where the home of the Great Bear Lake Chief once stood.

Records are comprised of a four page newsletter entitled 'Samuel Hearne Photo Album.' The newsletter shows pictures of students in the classroom, sporting events, school band and staff members, and is dated from 1985.

The records consist of cairn documents that were retrieved from the Helen Falls and Kazan River cairns. The notes are from different expeditions and individuals that travelled in this area between 1962-1992; many of the notes briefly comment on the canoeists' experiences, wildlife, weather conditions and list names of people that travelled these river systems.

The photographs show mining activity at Gordon Lake in 1937. The photographs also depict life at Yellowknife in 1937 and 1938, including photographs of the Pacific Western Airlines float base, the airplanes and pilots there. One photograph of the Yellowknife PWA operation was taken in 1958.

Records include photocopies of political cartoons drawn by Antoine Mountain.

The images include Fort Norman, the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches on the Hay River Reserve, Fort Good Hope, and the construction of the "Distributor" (ship). Some of the images remain unidentified.

Ten of the photos appear in Schwarz's book "Elik: and other stories of the Mackenzie Eskimos" and are portraits of the storytellers. These include Archie (Headpoint) Erigaktuk, Kenneth Peeloolook, Sarah Raddi, Jessie Olorgrak, Susie Tiktalik, Felix Nuyaviak, William Firth, Elizabeth Blake, Alik Alubuk Stefansson, and Alex Kakianen. Other images are of Herbert Schwarz and the gravemarker for Constable R. O. H. Taylor of the "Lost Patrol."

Records include images of Yellowknife, Pine Point, Con Mine, prospectors, tractor trains, and barges.
