Records include photographs and postcards from two photo albums of the Ingraham family. These photo albums were likely compiled by Victor Ingraham's son Leonard in the early 1980s and comprise of family photographs spanning the 1920s through to 1971. Subjects include Victor and Florence Ingraham, their children Leonard and Louisa, and other friends, family and associates of Vic Ingraham, including Gerry Murphy. Mining activities in the Great Bear Lake region, Vic Ingraham's hotels in Yellowknife and other northern scenic photographs are also featured. Communities depicted in the photographs include Fort Chipewyan, Fort Smith, Cameron Bay and Eldorado mine on Great Bear Lake, and Yellowknife. Also included are a 'Souvenir Folder' and two colour hotel postcards.
Ingraham, VicThe original films appear to date from the 1950s and are believed to have been created by an employee of Imperial Oil Limited in Norman Wells, Egon Madsen, for the company. Seven of the original films are in colour and all were taken in Norman Wells and the surrounding area. Subjects include the loading and transport of fuel drums, transport of a barge over land, a visit by Governor General Vincent Massey, building a tank farm, moving buildings from CANOL camp to Norman Wells, curling games, dogsledding, Imperial Oil Limited site and employees, and panorama views of Norman Wells and area.
Imperial Oil LimitedThe images include fishing trips, a scouting trip, views of Yellowknife including docks, the Rex Café, and aerial views of the town.
Taylor, IanRecords include photographs taken in Fort Franklin during 1953 and 1954. Images of people including: Cecelia Cleary, Mary Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kenny, and Mr. and Mrs. Takazo. Some of the people depicted are unidentified.
Hunter, MaryThe majority of the images appear to have been taken by Roman Catholic Father Maurice Metayer and show Holman, the old settlement of Holman at King's Bay, and residents of Mashoagak.
The collection consists primarily of slides taken by Helene Caufield during her time working as a nurse stationed in the Northwest Territories. Photograph locations include: Aklavik, Fort McPherson, Reindeer Station, Inuvik, Fort Simpson, and Yellowknife. Topics include scenery and community views, Anglican churches, hospitals, and hostels, students and patients, and activities including sewing, harvesting ice, making dryfish, picnics, and walks. The collection also includes a portrait of Helene during her training and a two page list of photograph captions.

This accession consists of photographs taken by Wulf Habrich in 1965 of various communities around Great Slave Lake including: Yellowknife, Fort Rae, Fort Smith, Snowdrift, Fort Providence and Fort Resolution. The pictures include images of treaty payment, drum dances, aerials and the Old Stope Hotel in Old Town.
Habrich, WulfThis fonds consists of 80 b/w and colour photographs and one folder of textual material relating to the Gruben family of the Mackenzie Delta region. Dating mainly from the 1920s to the 1970s, the photographs document the people, places and activities of the Mackenzie Delta including the communities of Tuktoyaktuk, Aklavik, Kittigaryuk, Shingle Point, and Baillie Island and the Gruben, Nasogaluak, Raddi, Pokiak, Jacob, Kikoak, Carpenter, Cockney, Wolki, and Elias families. Featured are traditional Inuvialuit clothing, including floral pattern parkas with sunburst hoods. Additional subjects include hunting, dogsledding, boats, fishing, and oil rigs. The schooner 'North Star' is also featured. The textual material includes the marriage certificate of Mary (Mercy) Talegomik and John Rubin, as well as a letter addressed to Mary Gruben from B. Sidgwick dated April 7, 1950.

The images are from Yellowknife, Fort Rae (Behchoko) and Jean Marie River areas throughout the 1950s.
The photographs were taken by Gladys Vear during her residency at Discovery Mine, Northwest Territories, between 1955-1968. Mrs. Vear was an active member of the Discovery Mines chapter of the Women's Institute, and she travelled to various arctic communities (Tuktoyaktuk and Coppermine) to speak with Aboriginal women and instruct them on electric sewing machines.
Vear, GladysThe images document Fred North's time in Inuvik (1957-1963 as principal of Sir Alexander Mackenzie School; 1965-1966 either as vice-principal of the new school or back at SAMS; 1967-1973 at one of the schools, probably as principal), Fort Simpson (1963-1965 as school principal) and Yellowknife (1973-1979 - spent one or two years as school principal in Lac la Martre / Whatı̀. Then he served as Superintendent of School Services-Operations ordering furnishings and supplies for all NWT schools). The images show schools, students, teachers, and classrooms, as well as northern events like carnivals, royal visits, and Northern Games. There are also images of various communities and the buildings within them.
North, FredTextual records consist of one 1960 yearbook, entitled "Borean" which was produced by the staff and students at Fort Smith Federal High School. The yearbook contains photographs of the staff and students and articles about both the Fort Smith Federal High School and the Fort Smith Federal Day School - an elementary school. This was the first yearbook to be produced in the NWT, and contains greetings from a number of federal politicians including Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, Alvin Hamilton, the Minister of Northern Affairs and National Resources, and R.G. Robertson, the Commissioner of the NWT. The yearbook also contains a number of biographical sketches of long-time residents of Fort Smith and a history of the town.
Fort Smith Federal High SchoolThe DVD is a copy of an 8 mm film of home movies shot in Fort Simpson in the 1950s by Ron Cree. The film depicts life in the settlement at that time.
The film footage and stills include images of the community of Fort Simpson, barges and planes, notable people such as the Kraus family and the Linbergs, activities such as the arrival of Cat trains and supplies, RCMP buildings, mission buildings, the experimental farm and the royal visit of Prince Philip to Fort Simpson.
The plan was produced in response to the City of Yellowknife's call for proposals for development plans for the city's waterfront areas and includes detailed lot drawings of Latham Island, Jolliffe Island and the Old Town area of Yellowknife.
This fonds consists of 1141 colour slides of Fort Simpson, Fort Providence, Fort Smith, Fort Good Hope, Deline, Tulita, Norman Wells, Hay River, and Willow Lake River, as well as 5 colour negatives of Willow Lake (K’álǫ Tué) taken by Father Felix Labat OMI. Included in these are approximately 44 images taken by Sister Blanche Matte, sgm, particularly in Behchoko, Whati, Fort Good Hope, and Fort Providence. The photographs span much of Father Labat's career with the Roman Catholic Diocese of the Mackenzie, beginning in Deline in 1954 and stretching into the 1980s. Subject matter includes church services, weddings, first communions, and other church-related activities, transportation by barge, motorboat, canoe, dogsled, mooseskin boat, ski, snowshoe and snowmobile, portraits of Dene men, women and children, including students at Grollier Hall in Inuvik and Breynat Hall in Fort Smith, Dene arts and crafts, events, including the NWT Centennial Canoe Race and 1984 Pope's (cancelled) visit, and hunting and fishing activities.
Labat, FelixThis accession consists of one black and white aerial photograph of Jolliffe Island and "Old Town" Yellowknife taken in the late 1930s or early 1940s.
The photographs primarily document Yellowknife, including the town, residents, and surrounding mine sites; shipyards and docks of Waterways, Alberta; the fish camp operated by McInnes Products Corporation, Limited, at Gros Cap on Great Slave Lake; and the town, residents, and shipyards of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Other locations documented include Peace River and Fort Fitzgerald, Alberta, as well as Fort Chipewyan, Rocher River, and Fort Resolution, NWT.
Kettlewell, EricRecords consist of one booklet entitled "Yellowknife Northwest Territories" compiled by Eric and Evelyn Kettlewell and produced and published by Intaglio Gravure Limited of Toronto, ca. 1946. The booklet contains 20 images of Yellowknife and some surrounding mine sites.

Additionally, the NWT Archives created 340 digital files that were created from original 303 colour slides, 36 black and white photographs and one colour photograph that were initially loaned to the NWT Archives in 2005. The majority of the images depict the community of Aklavik and include images of the All Saints Anglican Mission and Church, All Saints Hospital, Royal Canadian Mountain Police buildings and boat "Aklavik", as well as aircraft, the Anglican school, Aklavik Post Office and many identified people from the community. Many of the images are of patients at the All Saints Hospital. There are also images of Inuvik that include buildings in the community such as the Federal School and Roman Catholic church, the hospital, Semler's store, and Mackenzie Hotel, as well as the unveiling of the Inuvik Monument by Prime Minister John Diefenbaker. In addition, there are images of Fort Good Hope, Lutselk'e (Snowdrift), Detah (Dettah), Bathurst Inlet, Tuktoyaktuk, Fort Reliance, Fort Rae, Herschel Island, and Reindeer Station. The images taken in 1970's and 1980's are of Yellowknife and include images of the July 1 parade, art work at the Yellowknife Gallery, Yellowknife City Hall, exhibits at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, Northern United Place, Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company (Con Mine), and Giant Mine.
