[Town of Yellowknife correspondence, reports, official tours and ephemera from the period in which John Parker was Mayor of Yellowknife. Includes the program for the Official Visit of Her Excellency Madame Vanier to Yellowknife.]

[Various correspondence relating to Town of Yellowknife planning, by-laws, and lot prices. The file also includes land assembly schemes, survey documents, and the Town of Yellowknife Land Policy. Emphasis is on the development of the School Draw area and the area J.H. Sissons School, including 57th Street and 50A Avenue.]

This sub-series consists of photographs (slides, negatives, and prints) from W.D. (Bill) and Wendy Addison's 1966 honeymoon trip to the Nahanni. It also includes a 1970 Park News magazine featuring some of Bill's photographs from this trip.

July 22, 1966 Looking SE down the South Nahanni River valley from Sunblood Mountain (el. 5101 ft.). The most distant visible water is the mouth of the Flat River, 15 miles away. The most distant mountains are the Headless Range, 45 miles away Forests are White Spruce (Picea glauca) on lower and mid-elevations. Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta) range from dry sites in the valley to the peak of Sunblood Mountain. Alpine Fir (Abies lasiocarpa) is the chief species in the highest forests. July 22, 1966 Looking NW, up the South Nahanni River, from Sunblood Mountain (el. 5101 ft.). The river in this stretch is calm, almost without current in the 5 miles above the falls. Mountains N. of the river are chiefly of the Sunblood limestones, capped with a darker limestone and in some places shale. July 19, 1966 Looking SE down the South Nahanni River, late in the evening, from the portage around Virginia Falls. The canyon walls are limestone of the Sunblood formation. July 24, 1966 Looking SW up the South Nahanni River from the mouth of the second canyon at the head of Deadman's Valley. Forest originated with the extensive fires of 1948 and consists of White Birch (Betula sp.) Trembling Aspen (Populus temuloides) and Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta). July 9, 1966 Part of the Mount Sir James Macbrien complex from Glacier (Brintnell) Lake. Rock is granodiorite. The peak rises about 5,800 feet above the lake. It has been climbed up the front face, in 1965 I believe. (The vertical line at the base of the mountain, left of centre is a mark on the negative.
