This item is the ninth part of a twenty-nine-part recording of a portion of a Metis Association Board meeting, held ca. September 1974 in Fort Resolution. The original source item is side A of a 40 minute audio cassette. The meeting also includes items CN-475A, CN-475B, CN-476A, CN-476B, CN-248A, CN-248B, CN-23A, CN-23B, CN-249B, CN-250A, CN-250B, CN-251A, CN-251B, CN-252A, CN-252B, CN-477A, CN-477B, CN-253A, CN-253B, CN-478A, CN-478B, CN-343A, CN-343B, CN-254A, CN-254B, CN-255A, CN-255B, and CN-256A. The recording continues with a presentation by George Talbot on the territorial Department of Recreation (within the Department of Local Government) and its policies to provide supports and grants to communities, including for swimming pools and other community facilities. He describes the current difficulties, policies and procedures, and the approvals process. The current aim of the newly organized recreation department is to get feedback from the communities themselves as to what their needs are so that the government's policy can take these into account. Specific projects, including covering the Fort Resolution skating rink, are discussed. Some of the questions are spoken quietly and there is background noise. The recording ends abruptly.

This recording includes sides A and B of the tape.

Charlie's photo description: That's an [ Avro] Anson plywood aircraft. It landed where the
creek comes out of the spring and into the snye, straight back of the Mission. Every time they
brought one of them things in, they had to repair it. The belly or the tail end crushed in the snow.
They were too low I guess. I don't remember who was flying it.

WDA's Comments, 2014 Feb 05: The Anson was a training aircraft in the British
Commonwealth Air Traing Plan during WW II to train crews on flying, navigating and using
multi-engine aircraft (bombers). They were meant to be used on paved runways, not as planes on
skiis.

WDA's Comments, 2013 Jul 10: Looking up the flume from below its bottom end. The sluice box is on the left side of the flume. Hose to carry water from the pump used to pump out the pothole beneath the flume, lies on the rocks off to the left side of the flume.
