Milt Campbell's Audio Caption for photo: 26. That's a good picture of both of them. This print is a little faded. I hope you are able to bring it out because it is a good picture of Gus and the dog. You can see he's quite a happy character with Gus. He's a good man to travel with but a hard man to follow. He was powerful. Oh, he was powerful. I developed a lot of muscle trying to keep up to him.

WDA's Comments, 2014 Mar. 10: According to an article in Northern News Services (http://www.nnsl.com/frames/newspapers/2011-05/may12_11lin.html) Edwin was born 1929 Jun 16. In this photo he looks to be about 3 years old, thus placing this photo in the very early 1930s thus confirming Anna's dating.

Charlie's photo description: That's the same deal. I think they must be getting ready for the
race. Right in the middle there with his back to you, that's Lance Corporal Paisy [ spelling
unknown]. He come from Minnedosa down in Saskatchewan because we kind of teased him
about it. And there's old John Goodall. I see Johnny McPherson here and so on. You won't be
able to find them but I recognize some of them alright.

WDA's Comments, 2014 Feb 06: There is no Minnedosa, SK so Charlie either means
Minnedosa, MB or some other place in Saskatchewan.
This item is the fourteenth part of a twenty-nine-part recording of a portion of a Metis Association Board meeting, held ca. September 1974 in Fort Resolution. The original source item is side B of a 40 minute audio cassette. The meeting also includes items CN-475A, CN-475B, CN-476A, CN-476B, CN-248A, CN-248B, CN-23A, CN-23B, CN-249A, CN-249B, CN-250A, CN-250B, CN-251A, CN-252A, CN-252B, CN-477A, CN-477B, CN-253A, CN-253B, CN-478A, CN-478B, CN-343A, CN-343B, CN-254A, CN-254B, CN-255A, CN-255B, and CN-256A. The recording continues with further discussion of the Winter Warmth program. It is clarified that the Metis Association Board of Directors does not decide which homes to fix, rather that is the responsibility of the individual community committees within the budget determined by the territorial Board. The local committee is also responsible for determining how much to spend on labour and material. An argument regarding the program's administration in Fort Resolution breaks out. A discussion about the overall budget follows. The budget was originally drawn up by Bob Stevenson, the previous year's coordinator, and approved at the last Board Meeting, but will be revised at the current board meeting. There is also a discussion of who is eligible to access the funding, whether it is based on need alone or for all Metis Association members. Excerpts from the contract are read. Some meeting participants are hard to hear and the recording ends abruptly.

WDA's Comments, 2013 Jul 10: The flume is complete structurally except that it lacks the bulkhead at the top of the flume to divert the creek into it. Also, the sluice box has yet to be built on the left side of the flume. A heavy canvas lining will be installed in the flume to reduce leaks through the rough whip-sawn boards. Work tent at bottom.
