This accession consists of one card, mailed in August 1938, confirming a QSO (amateur radio contact) between Arctic VE5LD in Gjoa Haven and W2GTZ in New York on 5/11, 1937.

Records are comprised of a logbook of radio transmissions made between Salmita Mine and elsewhere. The majority of the calls are between Salmita and Yellowknife. Transmissions include day to day operations at the mine, requests for supplies, and contact with family members. Notable participants include John H. Parker and N.W. Byrne. The first half of the book is handwritten in pencil and ink, the second half is typed.

This fonds consists of 92 photographs and 70 audio reels (original master) copied from records loaned to the NWT Archives by Nick Sibbeston and 71 sound CDs (archival master). The original Sibbeston family photographs believed to date from the 1930s to the 1960s, feature the Fort Simpson area although few of the images have identifications. The original audio recordings probably all date from the 1970s and include episodes of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) program "Dene Gonde" and recordings of the General Assembly of the Metis Association of the Northwest Territories in Fort Providence during the fall of 1976.

The slides depict airport radio stations and former Royal Canadian Corps of Signals stations. They were created by Milton Watts during his time as a radio technician in Norman Wells, Fort Smith, Wrigley and Fort Norman (now Tulita) in the 1950s and 1960s.

This fonds consists of 12 film reels, 1 videocassette (VHS) which is a copy of the film footage, 3 cm of textual material and 83 photographs and negatives. The films show Yellowknife in the 1940s and 1950s including aerial footage and the base at Alert in the 1960s. The textual material consists of letters written by Hugh Ross between 1933-1936 from the Fort Norman Wireless Station to his future wife. In addition, there is a copy of a pseudo newsletter of the Royal Canadian Corps. Of Signals Northwest Territories and Yukon Radio System called "Notes of Interest." The negatives and photographs, which are located in a photo album that was compiled by Hugh Ross, include images of military personnel, wireless stations and the military base at Alert.

The sound recording contains examples of recordings broadcast by the Fort Liard Communication Society radio station CHFL. The recordings include local reports, elders' stories, interviews with Members of the Legislative Assembly, local musicians and Christmas messages.

The records consist of the history of the Signal Corps in Fort Rae and Yellowknife, and a copy of Life magazine from September 19, 1938.

This fonds consists of one DAT audio cassette and one sound cassette. The DAT is approximately 60 minutes in length and is of Inuit and Dene raven legends retold by Drama Arctic. The recording, produced by CFYK in Yellowknife, features the voices of Kathleen Johnson, Mick Mallon and Louis Blondin.

This fonds consists of one audio cassette containing the recording entitled "Dennis Williams: hooked on the North" created by Dennis Duffy in 1977. The audio documentary was created from recordings of Marjorie Nicol and Dennis Williams held at the Provincial Archives of British Columbia. The documentary is about Dennis Williams who was a Court Reporter in the Northwest Territories from 1971-1974. Williams corresponded about his life in the north with his friend Marjorie Nicol, using both text and audio recordings.

The textual records include correspondence, a radio licence issued by the federal Dept. of Marine, and one letter from BEAR Assistant Superintendent, George K. Foster. Photographs depict BEAR radio equipment, personnel, camp buildings, and the surrounding area. Two images also depict Back's chimneys at Old Fort Reliance.

This fonds consists of 296 reel to reels (original masters) and 678 audio cassettes (original masters) copied to 661 sound CDs (RedBook Audio format - Archival Masters), which contain approximately 1013 oral history recordings and 1.2 meters of transcriptions from the Committee for Original People's Entitlement (COPE). The sound CDs constitute the archival masters. These recordings are in Inuvialuktun, Gwich'in and North Slavey and contain life stories of elders as well as traditional legends. Many of the recordings are part of CBC broadcast programming.

The textual records consist of a membership card and blank letterhead from the Tuktoyaktuk Broadcasting Association which operated CFCT Tuktoyaktuk Radio Station. The sound recording is of the radio log for one day of programming (date unknown).
